Escada to announce fur-free policy

The Escada campaign, against the sale of sale of fur by the German fashion house, has announced a provisional halt to protests:

As previously reported ESCADA announced to stop selling “farmed fur” products from now on. The Escada-Campaign takes this announcement seriously as there are no real fur products in the current pre-fall collection. For this reason we are calling for a tentative stop to protests at ESCADA’s stores. Contact will be made with the company management immediately to clarify questions about the fulfilment of all demands, e.g. if ESCADA ends the sale of fur indefinately. If this is not the case, the campaign will continue until ESCADA is fur-free. Keep alert for more information.

Escada has few stores in the UK, but this will come as a huge boost to our comrades overseas. As one of the largest and highest-profile companies to sell fur, Escada has been the subject of a vociferous international campaign for years. A fur free declaration would give a clear signal to the fashion world that activists won’t give in, and that no company can survive such a campaign. Furthermore, it will free up time and resources for the campaign against Max Mara.
