SAEIS

Stop Animal Experiments in Sheffield (SAEIS) is a new campaign, part of a wider trend towards targetting universities and provoked by the unusually large number of animals killed at the University of Sheffield.

Over 30 000 animals are experimented on every year by the University of Sheffield, before being killed and disposed of. The animals used include mice, rats, rabbits, ferrets, gerbils, pigs, fishes (sic) and birds. Sheffield Hallam University conducts vivisection on mice and rats, but much fewer than the University of Sheffield: 143 in 2009.

On June 19th there’ll be a march in Sheffield, calling for an end to animal experiments. Get in touch with Sheffield Animal Friends of SAEIS for more information, or if you’re able to distribute flyers to advertise the campaign.

Visit the website of Sheffield-based Uncaged for more information on animal experiments, and check out the SAEIS campaign page for more information on the situation in Sheffield, and how to get involved with the campaign.
